Birding in City Park

Profiled as the best birding spot in New Orleans in the June 2008 issue of Birder's World Magazine

City Park is the largest green space in New Orleans. The 1300 acres consists of numerous lagoons, lawns, trees, and areas of dense growth inhabited by a large variety of bird life. A listing of Birds that have been spotted in the Park is available in our Inside Guide to Birding in City Park.

Couturie Forest is a heavily wooded area with thick undergrowth considered one of the best birding spots. In addition, Scout Island, the New Orlenans Botanical Garden, Bayou St. John, and the Big Lake area are prime spots.
