New Orleans City Park is grateful to the many people who volunteered on Monday, January 21, 2019, between 9:30 am and noon in City Park for this year’s Martin Luther King, Jr. day of service. Volunteers and students from Tulane University, Dillard University, Loyola University, and The University of New Orleans  honored the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. by working with one another to give back to New Orleans City Park, our community, and our city.  Fifty volunteers from a combination of the New Orleans area schools worked together on a large volunteer project at the Festival Grounds area (off of Henry Thomas Drive). Main tasks for this day include: planting 300 three gallon sized agapanthus plants, mulching, weeding, pruning, and general beautification.
