City Park Dog Park to Reopen

NOLA City Bark to Reopen with Restrictions in Place for Phase I

With guidance from appropriate governmental authorities New Orleans City Park will open NOLA City Bark dog park to permit holders at 1pm on Tuesday, May 26, 2020.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, restrictions are in place to keep both guests and staff safe. No more than 30 people are allowed in the large dog park at a time and only 10 people at a time in the small dog park area. Guests must stay fewer than 60 minutes at a time. Guests are allowed to bring their own chairs and must take them with them as they leave the dog park. Water fountains for humans will be nonoperational. Guests must maintain at least 6 feet from one another and though not required, we ask guests to wear face shields or masks, and all permit holders must scan their permit pass before entering the dog park. Permits holders may not allow non-permit holders inside the facility.

About NOLA City Bark: NOLA City Bark dog park is a 4.6 acre plot of land located in beautiful City Park. An afternoon in NOLA City Bark dog park offers fun and a place to exercise the canine members of a family. 
Entrance to the dog park requires a permit to insure that all dogs have been properly vaccinated and spayed/neutered. Annual permits as well as temporary/tourist permits for visitors are available. The permit fee provides operating funds to maintain the dog park.

REGULAR HOURS: Open 5:30am - 9pm*
*Exception: Dog Park is closed on Tuesdays until 1pm for weekly maintenance.

New Orleans City Park will begin Phase I opening

With guidance from appropriate governmental authorities New Orleans City Park will begin Phase I opening some of its facilities on Saturday, May 16, 2020.

City Park staff will follow appropriate protocols to ensure cleanliness and safety. Guests are asked to follow CDC, state, and city recommended social distance measures and to stay home if they are sick or have been exposed to Covid-19. Capacity at each attraction will be limited. For the safety of our staff, tickets will be sold online at NewOrleansCityPark.com. Bathrooms outside open attractions will remain closed.

“City Park will reopen some attractions such as non-contact sports and the Botanical Garden with limited admission. We invite guests to use the attractions responsibly and continue to maintain the guidelines set by the CDC. We are so grateful to the people who love City Park and to those who have donated money during this time. We strenuously remind people to continue to follow the rules in place so the Park can continue to move forward in phase one,” said Bob Becker, CEO for New Orleans City Park.

Non-Contact Sports:

- City Putt Mini Golf: Open Wed.- Fri. 3pm to 10pm and Sat. & Sun. noon to 10pm; last rental is 1 hour before close; purchase tickets on this link; limited admission

Playgrounds:
- Storyland: Open Wed. – Sun. 10am to 4:30pm (last entry at 4pm); limited admission; tickets on this link
- Other Park playgrounds will open over time and will be announced on Park website and social media.

New Orleans Botanical Garden:
- Open Wed. 10am to 8pm and Thurs.- Sun. 10am to 4:30pm; Wednesday is free entry for LA residents courtesy of The Helis Foundation; purchase tickets on this link; limited admission

- Snoballs: Located on the plaza between the Goldring/Woldenberg Great Lawn and City Putt; open Wed. – Sun. noon to 7pm
