Kids in the Kitchen: Pizza Making Party

At Kitchen in the Garden, kids can have their pizza and eat it, too! When children arrive in the kitchen they receive a chef’s hat and apron in preparation for cooking. First, the party chef (party attendant) will discuss pizza making and using fresh ingredients from the garden, and then lead the kids on  a scavenger hunt—searching for herbs and vegetables, and other items found in a garden. Depending on the season, they will discover tomatoes, onions, peppers, spinach, and various herbs.

Next, the party chef will do a cooking demo for the group, creating pizzas for everyone to enjoy. Lastly, each child will be given a small pizza crust to create their own small 6” pizza with assorted toppings. Each partygoer will bring home their chef’s hat, apron and personal-sized pizza as their handmade party favors.

Kids and parents can visit the miniature train garden or other parts of the garden after they’ve completed their activities.

Kitchen in the Garden is a state-of-the-art facility with a fully-equipped, outdoor kitchen where kids can be themselves and learn about gardening and cooking through hands-on experiences.
