    Join kids ages 18 months to 4 years old under the Enrique Alférez Oak for storytime, activities, and a healthy snack. Kids won’t want to miss this! Enter through the Tolmas Visitor Center (5 Victory Avenue). This 'class' is the 3rd Wednesday of each month. Admission is needed for each child but the required adult chaperone is free.     Join us for a morning of volunteering in New Orleans City Park! We cannot keep the Park looking as good as it does without the help from the community. Meet a little before 9am and work until noon. To sign up and get details on that day's meet-up location, contact Tyler Havens at thavens@nocp.org. Always wear closed-toe shoes and sunscreen and bring a water bottle. We are very appreciate of al of our volunteers.

The June Plant Sale takes place at the Pelican Greenhouse and is 9am to noon.     Activities

    Tell all your family and friends to meet you at the Park for a patriotic celebration. The Marine Corps Band New Orleans plays live and fireworks are set off from atop the Peristyle. This is a family fun and free event. Bring your chairs and blankets and leave the dogs at home. Click the link below for more information.     Have you ever wanted to press fresh flowers to use in craft projects? Now is your chance! In this class we will talk about which flowers are worthy of pressing, we will make a flower press, and gather flowers from the garden to press in the flower press. Instruction and materials included in this class.

  • Flower Pressing

    This workshop will cover instructions on how to press flowers, which plants work and how long to dry them, we will also have discussion about the many uses of pressed flowers. Each participant will make a bookmark and a greeting card using pressed flowers to take home. Supplies will be provided.
