  • Spring Garden Show

    The annual Spring Garden Show in the New Orleans Botanical Garden invites visitors to explore the beautiful Botanical Garden, more than 50 horticultural exhibits, family friendly activities, and enjoy educational lectures. The festival includes plant sales, garden product sales, a Plant Health Clinic, a Children’s Discovery Zone, and live music on the Haspel Outdoor Stage.

    Two days: Saturday, April 6th 9 am to 5 pm & Sunday, April 7th, 10 am to 4 pm

    Enter through the Tolmas Center at 5 Victory Avenue

    The New Orleans Botanical Garden will extend its hours to 8 pm every Wednesday during the month of October to celebrate "Evenings with Enrique." Each week, "Evenings with Enrique" will feature local musicians playing among the collection of 16 sculptures by the famed Mexican-American artist.     Join kids ages 18 months to 4 years old under the Enrique Alférez Oak for storytime, activities, and a healthy snack. Kids won’t want to miss this! Enter through the Tolmas Visitor Center (5 Victory Avenue). This 'class' is the 3rd Wednesday of each month. Admission is needed for each child but the required adult chaperone is free. Consider bringing a blanket to sit on. Pre-registration is encouraged but not required To register or with questions, please contact nobgeducation@nocp.org.

    Spring is the best time to repot most orchids. Larry Hennessey will cover all of the basics you’ll need to know to successfully repot and take care of your orchids. After the orchid class take a walk around the conservatory of two sisters and see our beautiful orchids. 

    Larry Hennessey has been growing Orchids for 20 years in New Orleans. Larry is he past President of the New Orleans Orchid Society and also a member of the American Orchid Society. Many of his plants have received awards at local orchid shows and two orchids have been recognized as having superior flowers by the American Orchid Society.

    The New Orleans Botanical Garden is proud to join American Public Gardens Association and 500+ gardens nationwide in celebrating an annual week of awareness that honors the role public gardens play in promoting plant and water conservation, education, and environmental leadership. We invite the New Orleans community and tourists alike to explore the diverse beauty that the New Orleans Botanical Garden has to offer as well as its deep rooted history starting with the Works Progress Administration (WPA) in the 1930's.

    Our offer: Free tour with admission to the garden Monday, May 13 through Saturday, May 18 at 1 pm. Each tour last one hour and 30 minutes depending on questions. Please arrive 15 minutes early before the tour begins.
