    The Botanical Garden’s own, singer/songwriter Paul Soniat, along with special guest artists, will perform a program with emphasis on “Songs of Katrina” remembering how our life was when Katrina hit, and to celebrate the incredible growth and rebirth from the devastation we all faced ten years ago.  The weekly Thursdays at Twilight series showcases some of the finest musicians in New Orleans featuring an assortment of music styles.   • Martini Madness

    Join the Madness!  With guests gathered to sample 30 specialty martinis and enjoy delicious cuisine from 25 different New Orleans restaurants, it is a blast waiting to happen!  The event takes place from 8 to 11pm and features exciting raffle prizes, photo booth fun, a DJ to get help you get down on the dance floor and more.  

    Tickets are available to adults 21 years old or over for $50 general admission, $45 for FOCP members or $75 “Before the Madness” that includes reserved seating, VIP bar, and an extra hour of fun from 7pm to 8pm.   • Magic in the Moonlight

    Magic in the Moonlight is an al fresco dinner served under the beautifully lit oaks on the grounds of the New Orleans Botanical Garden. This three-course seated dinner will be prepared by Susan Spicer with great musical entertainment by Wendell Brunious and his band. Proceeds from a silent auction and ticket sales will be dedicated to the creation of the Arrival Garden and Conservatory Court at the new entrance to the Botanical Garden.   • Ghosts in the Oaks (night one)

    This family friendly event takes place in the Carousel Gardens Amusement Park and Storyland over on two nights!  October 24th is the second night.  Children of all ages, including the young at heart adults, dress in their Halloween best for unlimited rides, air-brush face painting, live music, arts & crafts, balloon animals, a pumpkin patch, and trick-or-treating!

    Early admission begins at 6pm and gates open at 7pm for general admission. Early admission is offered at $20 per person and general admission is offered at $15 per person.  Children under 36 months are admitted free of charge.  Tickets will be sold for a single night and will be honored only for the night purchased.

  • Voodoo Experience

    Over the past 17 years, the Voodoo Music + Arts Experience has built a reputation for drawing some of the biggest names in music to City Park for one of the biggest celebrations in the country. This year is no different, with a line-up that includes 75+ artists. The Experience takes place on the Festival Grounds also include a wide variety of New Orleans cuisine, a Farris wheel, rides and large scale interactive art installations. Doors open daily at 10:30am. The date is firm but the times listed here are subject to change without notice. Please visit worshipthemusic.com for details.

    Celebration in the Oaks Preview Party for Adults
    One of the premier parties of the holiday season in New Orleans, this dazzling soiree kicks off the annual lights display. Guests get the first glimpse of the lights and are given exclusive access to the Botanical Garden and amusement park. Naturally, because this is New Orleans, food, music and adult beverages are available in abundance. Five live music stages feature the best local musicians, and guest are treated to a tantalizing array of foods from 50 local restaurants and caterers. The party is from 7:30pm to 11pm.
    Tickets: $100/person in advance; $120/person day of event; Friends of City Park members: $90/person.

  • Celebration in the Oaks: Jingle Bells & Beer

    Please join us for our holiday event created just for young adults – and those young at heart! Guests can ride on all the rides within City Park’s amusement park, under the beautiful lights of Celebration in the Oaks. Craft beers will be available to sampe throughout the amusement park, and “munchies” will be provided from local food vendors. Dancing to live music from local bands  will make your bells jingle!
    Admission includes:
    * Unlimited rides at the amusement park, including the miniature train and carousel.
    * Unlimited beer, soft drinks and water from a variety of local distributors and beer samples of craft beers
    * Unlimited food for all guests, provided by local restaurants, grocery stores and vendors.
    The event is from 7pm to 10pm. This party requires casual attire (as opposed to the Preview Party where cocktail attire is necessary). 
    $35 FOCP members
    $40 general public (in advance)
    $45 general public (day of event)

  • Happy 3rd of July

    Join us as we celebrate the 3rd of July! Bring your chairs & blankets and enjoy patriotic music with the Marine Corps Band New Orleans on the Goldring/Woldenberg Great Lawn and fireworks from the Peristyle. Concessions, wine and beer will be available for purchase, or you can bring your own picnic – but please, do not stake tents or blankets into the lawn.

    This event is FREE and open to the public. The Happy 3rd of July event runs from 7:15pm to 9pm. You may want to gtrab your spot on the lawn earlier though. Fireworks will begin at 9pm.
