  • BioBlitz New Orleans City Park

    Following a smash hit summer event that drew more than 300 participants, Loyola University New Orleans is once again hosting BioBlitz New Orleans City Park. Volunteer scientists, coastal researchers, naturalists, teachers, students, families, and interested residents of all ages are encouraged to join the event. A BioBlitz, also known as a biological inventory or biological census, is an event or intense period of surveying that focuses on finding and identifying as many species as possible in a specific area over a short period of time.

  • Family Volunteer Day

    New Orleans City Park is hosting a Family Volunteer Day in partnership with generationOn and The Walt Disney Company. We want your family to participate!

    Families will meet at the Volunteer Center (1009 Harrison Avenue) at 9am and proceed to Couturie Forest to mulch trails and clear invasive species from selected areas.  Participants should plan appropriately: wear long pants and boots, bring sunscreen and bug spray, and should also bring a water bottle as water will be provided for volunteers.  Volunteers will work from 9am till noon.
