  • Super Saturday Volunteer Day

    ActivitiesVolunteering Events

    City Park hosts Super Saturday, a community volunteer event, and wants you to volunteer! Many groups from the community, including high schools, colleges, churches, service groups, and individuals, attend the event. Work assignments and tools are handed out at the Volunteer Center at 9am, and volunteers work until noon doing various tasks, including painting, pruning, raking, mulching, planting, and maintaining areas around City Park.
    Where to be: Volunteer Center at 1009 Harrison Avenue
    When to be there: 8:45am (work begins promptly at 9am)
    Who to call with questions or to sign up: Tyler at (504) 483-9459
    What to bring: Close-toed shoes or boots, a water bottle, sunscreen, bug spray, a brimmed hat, and snacks (if you’d like some).
    Why: Because volunteering for City Park feels great!

  • Creating Bonsai from Garden Center Stock

    If you have ever wanted to learn the art of bonsai and how these living works of art are created, then this workshop is for you!. Learn bonsai basics and create your own bonsai tree.  

    This class run from 9am to noon. The class is $35/person with a 15 student limit to the class.
    To register call 483-9473 or email scapley@nocp.org. Pre-registration is required for all classes to ensure that a class is not canceled due to low enrollment.
