Rules & Regulations
- New Orleans City Park Film Permit. No person shall take still, motion,
video or sound pictures for commercial purposes in City
Park without a City Park Film Permit approved by the City Park Public
Relations Director
or Coordinator. The Film Permit form shall be in writing
and shall set forth any conditions pertaining to the use as the Director/Coordinator
shall determine and the fee or charge to be paid for such
use.
- Fees and Charges. The fees and charges for use of City
Park for filming and commercial photography shall be established
by City Park and shall be paid prior to the issuance of the City Park
Film Permit
Form. All fees must be paid 24 hours prior to the filming
date.
- Compensation for loss of business, facility rental fees.
City Park must be compensated for loss of business if filming
will take place in areas that will prohibit customer access to revenue
producing
areas and all established facility rental fees must be
paid in addition to film permit fees.
- City Permits. Parties wishing to film in City Park are
responsible for obtaining any additional permit from the
City of New Orleans and/or New Orleans Fire Department as needed.
- Public Safety. Activities that will endanger public
safety in City Park are prohibited. City Park Police, New
Orleans Police Department and/or New Orleans Fire Department may shut
down a filming
company at anytime if they feel it is endangering public
safety.
- Litter or Debris. Upon completion of filming, the area
being used for filming must be left free of litter or debris.
A custodial and trash receptacle will be deducted from the security
deposit of film
companies who do not leave City Park in the condition in
which it was found.
- Vehicle and Equipment Parking. Production companies
must set up a parking base on paved areas only. No parking
will be allowed on the roots of trees or other sensitive green spaces.
- Insurance. All parties wishing to film in City Park are required to sign an indemnification agreement and provide a Certificate of Insurance with the following minimal coverage:
General Liability
$1 million per occurrence
$2 million aggregate
Auto Liability
$1 million combined single limit
In addition, proof of Workers' Compensation must be provided and a waiver of subrogration must be granted in favor of City Park.
Insurance certificate holders must be listed as additional insured and should read as follows:

City Park may shut down a filming company at anytime they feel the conditions of the City Park Filming Guidelines and/or City Park Film Permit Form is not being conformed to.
