Notice: the Fishing Rodeo Registration will take place at Parkview Cafe. The Fishtival has been moved to Big Lake on the Wisner Blvd side of the Park, between the Museum of Art and Christian Brothers School.


City Park

How do I Register?

Registration Form and Rules may be downloaded and filled out to bring to the Registration Area on Rodeo day. Be sure to download and read the Rules and Regulations which must be signed and turned in with the registration form.

Where do I go?

On- Site Registration will begin at 6:00 a.m.the Casino Building (Parkview Cafe) on Dreyfous Avenue in City Park. Each category will have a specified registration table which will be appropriately labeled. If you have a question about your category, we will have a volunteer to help answer your questions. There will be a table with registration forms and pencils for your convenience. Security will be present at the registration area.
Team Event: If you are fishing in the Team Event, "Rio Grande Roundup", all members must register. However, all members do not need to stand in line to register. One representative for the group may register for the whole team (Registration form has special area for team registration). The Registration Form must be completed with each member's name and age. Please have the registration fee for all members ready along with the completed form.

NOTE: Registration will take place at the Parkview Cafe. The Fishtival has been moved to Big Lake on the Wisner side of the Park near the Musuem of Art and Christian Brothers School.

The area between Filmore and Robert E. Lee Blvd. (the North Golf Course) is closed to fishing. Besthoff Sculpture Garden is also closed to fishing. All other areas in the park are stocked and may be fished. Bayou St. John is considered part of City Park for fishing purposes and this is where the tagged redfish have been placed.

What is the Registration Fee?

$10 for Adults (13 and older)
$5 for Kids (12 and under)

Each registrant will receive a free $1 raffle ticket for the big raffle of fishing gear (various prizes to be given away).

Each registrant will be given a colored wristband for identification as per category entered. Please be sure to wear your wristband and present it to the Weigh Master when you bring your winning fish to the Weigh Master station.
