The tradition of golf at City Park dates back to 1902, when avid golfer John Tobin founded the 9-hole New Orleans Golf Club – one of only 80 golf courses in the U.S. at the time. Today’s 18-hole course offers a convenient and affordable round of golf, as well as a 36-stall driving range. And tee time at City Park is about to get even better: construction has begun on a new championship-level golf course. For more details on the new course, please keep reading and also visit the City Park Master Plan 2018.

Construction will begin on City Park’s new Championship Level Golf Course comprised of a 250 acre footprint bordered by Filmore Avenue, Harrison Avenue, Marconi Drive, and Wisner Boulevard.
The layout of the $13,180,00 eighteen hole course incorporates portions of the former East and West courses and features many of the historic oak trees and existing lagoons that are characteristic of the Park.
Designed by renowned golf course architect Rees Jones, the par 72 layout can be stretched from 5,100 – 7,250 yards and has been designed to accommodate players of all skill levels.
The course will be complemented by a new clubhouse. Construction is slated to finish in February 2017.
The Park’s current golf course, the North Course, will remain open.
