Earth Day

“Every day is Earth Day in City Park”

About the Event:
Join New Orleans City Park in our annual Earth Day celebration each April. The mission of the event is to celebrate the Earth, educate the public about the importance of sustainability and environmental stewardship, and inspire our community to take action to protect our natural environment.
The event features environmental non-profits and sustainable businesses, live music, cooking demonstrations, free yoga, crafts for kids and adults, face painting, and great food and drinks.
Earth Day in City Park is hosted in the New Orleans Botanical Gardens, a perfect venue to spend an afternoon of exploration and learning.

CITY PARK FACTS:

City Park would not be the place it is today without President Rooseveltís Works Progress Administration efforts during the Great Depression. More than 20,000 men and women were employed to build bridges, roads, fountains, the Botanical Garden and Tad Gormley stadium, and to dig more 11 miles of lagoons - work all done by hand.
