Volunteer on Super Saturdays

Super Saturdays are Back!

One Saturday each month– usually the first Saturday each month– volunteers are invited to meet in front of Storyland on Victory Drive at 9:00 a.m. Work assignments and tools will be handed out at that time and volunteers will work until 12:00 noon.

Work may include pruning, raking, cutting grass, picking up trash, and planting. Please dress appropriately for the season and bring your own garden gloves along with any food and drink you wish to consume. Since we don’t know how many volunteers will show up each week, please bring yard tools if you have them. No chainsaws!

Volunteers are encouraged to dress appropriately (no open-toed sandals!), wear a hat, and apply sunscreen and insect repellant. Volunteers are responsible for providing any beverages they wish to drink and food they wish to consume. Bring plenty of liquids year round, but particularly during the summer months.

The work of volunteers is always appreciated and even more so today as the park's staff has been reduced drastically in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. We simply can't maintain the park without your help!

Upcoming Super Saturday Dates:

    July 12
    August 2
    September 6

If you are coming with a group of volunteers on a particular Saturday, please email Jim Morrison at jmorrison@nocp.org or call him at (504)483-9459 and tell him how many volunteers will be coming with your group.
