  • Free Zumba Class

    Join your friends for free Zumba classes at the Peristyle in New Orleans City Park. New Orleans City Park and Ochsner are excited to bring the community yet another way to exercise in the Park. Come ready to dance away stress and have some fun. Wear appropriate workout attire, gym shoes, and bring H2O as you’ll work up a sweat! Though the class will be offered rain or shine, should you be curious about a class please call 733-1600.
    Saturdays through December 2019
    Time: 8 am until 8:45 am
    Where:  The Peristyle in New Orleans City Park (near the intersection of Dreyfous and Anseman)
    Cost: Free and no reservations are needed

  • Native Plant Sale

    Native Plant sale on 2 Celebration Drive at Pelican Greenhouse. This special sale with a special time, gates open at 10 AM. Native plants only!
    Bring a wagon and arrive early for best selection. Special guest, Wendy Rihner from the Audubon Society, will be giving out information on bird friendly gardening.

  • Cooking Demonstration and Tasting by Chef Melvin Stovall in the Kitchen in the Garden

    Dr. Joe Willis of the LSU Ag Center will educate you on everything you ever wanted to know about local peppers.  Chef Melvin Stovall, known for his vegan Chinese pop-up, Midnight Noodle, will show participants what to do with these spicy native plants.  Chef Stovall will have spicy dishes to taste and a take-away to help recreate at home.

  • Little Acorns

    Kids ages 18 months – 4 years join us under the Alferez Oak in The New Orleans Botanical Garden for an hour of fun! Each meeting we will read a story, do a hands-on activity and have a healthy snack! $3 per child, Pay at the Oscar J. Tolmas Center. Adult chaperone required. Bring a small blanket or towel to sit on! Pre-registration is encouraged but not required.
