Due to anticipated isolated thunderstorms and current street flooding, New Orleans City Park will cancel planned Fourth of July celebrations scheduled for July 3rd, 2021. While City Park is disappointed to have to cancel these events due to anticipated weather, the Park’s highest priority is the safety of the New Orleans community and Park users.  For questions contact:

“We are disappointed to have to cancel the activities scheduled to celebrate and unite individuals from across our community this Fourth of July weekend. As stewards of a public space, it is paramount that the safety of Park users and our community are at the forefront of our decision-making.  While weather has caused us to change our plans, we are thankful that with the generosity of Will Smith, the City of New Orleans will be able to enjoy fireworks on the 4th of July,” said City Park CEO Cara Lambright.

New Orleans City Park will celebrate the Fourth of July a day early, with a spirited gathering of our community from across the region for a free night of music and fireworks on July 3, 2021, at 7 p.m. on the Goldring/Woldenberg Great Lawn.

“We support City Park because of its importance to the City of New Orleans and to the families who reside in the neighboring areas. We grew up in this area and remember how much the City Park meant to us,” says Lisa Romano and Vincent Giardina, Trustees of the Oscar J. Tolmas Charitable Trust.

7PM: National Anthem sung by Robin Barnes
Performance by Marine Forces Reserve Band

9PM: Fireworks by AFXPro

Guests are encouraged to arrive early with chairs, blankets and picnics, while donning their red, white and blue.

Concessions will be available for purchase or you may bring your own picnic. The snoball stand will also be open with dozens of flavors.

Due to large crowds and noise from the fireworks, we encourage you to leave your pets at home.

Take out what you take in! In an effort to minimize our environmental impact, New Orleans City Park will also offer recycling services at the Happy 3rd of July event. Please help City Park reduce event waste by bringing refreshments and food in reusable containers, recycling glass and aluminum cans and by composting food waste.

Dreyfous will be closed at Anseman at 3pm until 11pm. The City Putt parking lot will be closed to the general public. All remaining lots will be open to the public, along with Tad Gormley Stadium. After the event, staff will direct all traffic from Victory Drive on to Marconi heading north.
