The Heart of City Park Photo Contest Winners

2016 Winners

New Orleans City Park is delighted to announce the winning photographs in its The Heart of City Park 2016 Photo Contest.

A HUGE thanks to everyone who participated. There were so many great photos it was difficult to pick the winners.

In May and June of 2016, photographers were invited to take photos of New Orleans City Park to portray ‘The Heart of City Park’. The Park was looking for striking images and with nearly 350 entries, we were impressed with the talent of local photographers.

There were five categories: Art/Architecture; Animals; People in the Park; Recreation/Sports; and Flowers, Plants, & Trees. A first, second, and third place winner in each category along with a Best Over All winner were selected.

A panel of 4 judges, including professional photographers, made the final decisions. This is the second time the Park has held a photo contest and the Park plans on having another because of the wonderful response from the City Park family.

Join us as we announce the winners of the photo contest and hand out prizes. You can meet the photographers and see their work close-up. Can’t make the event in late August? You can view the winning photos in the Oscar J. Tolmas Center or Administration building during normal business hours.

Awards ceremony date: Thursday, August 25, 2016 at 6 pm

Quoted: “The Park received so many worthy photo submissions. It was difficult to choose the winners. I look forward to shaking the photographer’s hands and thanking them for their time, effort, and creativity at the Awards Ceremony,” says John Hopper, Chief Development Officer.
