    Lecture: “Reimagining Race, Class, and Identity in the New World” with Mia Bagneris, Assistant Professor, History of Art at Tulane University, 6 p.m.
    Every Friday night, visit NOMA from 5-9pm for art activities and a variety of activities and performances which range from lectures, music performances, cooking demonstrations, art activities and films inspired by the current exhibitions.  Friday Nights at NOMA activities are free with museum admission.

    It's the 50th Anniversary of The Beatles playing in City Park! Time to celebrate! 

    Get ready to “Twist N Shout” in your favorite ‘60s era attire while reliving the wildly popular, sold-out show from one of the greatest and most influential rock groups of all time – The Beatles!

    Fifty years ago to the day, thousands of frenzied fans experienced the concert of a lifetime at City Park Stadium (Tad Gormley) – WYES is thrilled to recreate those feelings with the help of The Fab Four.

    The Fab Four, a Beatles tribute band, was founded in 1997 in Southern California. The band has brought the music of The Beatles to many places including Japan, Malaysia, France, Hong Kong, The United Kingdom, Germany, Australia, Mexico and Brazil. PBS stations nationwide, including WYES-TV, have included their concerts during special pledge times.

    “Come together” for this fun 50th anniversary tribute concert and sing along to your favorite Beatles tunes such as: I Want To Hold Your Hand, Hard Days Night, Eight Days A Week, Can’t Buy Me Love, Help, With a Little Help From My Friends, Penny Lane, Hey Jude and more!

  • Martini Madness

    Join the Madness!  With guests gathered to sample 30 specialty martinis and enjoy delicious cuisine from 25 different New Orleans restaurants, it is a blast waiting to happen!  The event takes place from 8 to 11pm and features exciting raffle prizes, photo booth fun, a DJ to get help you get down on the dance floor and more.  All proceeds will fund the installation and decoration of the new Ladybug Rollercoaster station in Carousel Gardens Amusement Park.

    Tickets are available to adults 21 years old or over for $50 general admission, $45 for FOCP members or $75 “Before the Madness” that includes reserved seating, VIP bar, and an extra hour of fun from 7 PM – 8 PM.     Usually seen performing on the streets in the French Quarter, violinist Tanya and guitarist Dorise bring their musical talents indoors for our concert series. Music is what brought Tanya from Taiwan, and Dorise from Connecticut to New Orleans. Tanya and Dorise will perform a variety of music, including jazz, blues, rock, and soul. John will be performing with Don Vappie, Paul Soniat, and world renowned French accordionist Norbert Slama.
