    Friday Nights at NOMA: Movies in the Garden
    This activity is at the New Orleans Museum of Art.
    Art on the Spot: 5-8 p.m.
    Discussion: Alexis Rockman with Brett Littman, Executive Director of the Drawing Center, 6 p.m. (in the auditorium)
    Artful Palate Cooking Demo: 6:30pm
    Film: Sunset Boulevard, at sundown
    Every Friday night, visit NOMA from 5-9pm for art activities and a variety of activities and performances which range from lectures, music performances, cooking demonstrations, art activities and films inspired by the current exhibitions.  Friday Nights at NOMA activities are free with museum admission.

  • Martini Madness

    Join the Madness!  With guests gathered to sample 30 specialty martinis and enjoy delicious cuisine from 25 different New Orleans restaurants, it is a blast waiting to happen!  The event takes place from 8 to 11pm and features exciting raffle prizes, photo booth fun, a DJ to get help you get down on the dance floor and more.  All proceeds will fund the installation and decoration of the new Ladybug Rollercoaster station in Carousel Gardens Amusement Park.

    Tickets are available to adults 21 years old or over for $50 general admission, $45 for FOCP members or $75 “Before the Madness” that includes reserved seating, VIP bar, and an extra hour of fun from 7 PM – 8 PM.   • Thursdays at Twilight - Tanya and Dorise

    Usually seen performing on the streets in the French Quarter, violinist Tanya and guitarist Dorise bring their musical talents indoors for our concert series. Music is what brought Tanya from Taiwan, and Dorise from Connecticut to New Orleans. Tanya and Dorise will perform a variety of music, including jazz, blues, rock, and soul. Don’t miss this concert.   • Thursdays at Twilight - Little Freddie King

    The cousin of Lightnin' Hopkins, King learned guitar from his father, but in 1954 moved to New Orleans at the age of 14. He played in many juke joints with his friends Babe Stovall, Slim Harpo, and Champion Jack Dupree, playing both acoustic and electric guitar. He recorded the firrst electric blues album in New Orleans with Harmonica Williams in 1969. In 1976, King undertook a European tour alongside Bo Diddley and John Lee Hooker. He is a member of the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame. Three times selected Blues Performer of the Year in New Orleans.

John will be performing with Don Vappie, Paul Soniat, and world renowned French accordionist Norbert Slama.     Cristina, in addition to performing with her band, has contributed her vocals to other local groups and is featured on Offbeat Magazine's "Best Traditional Jazz Album of 2011" (New Orleans Moonshiners, "Frenchmen Street Parade"). Perez is excited to finally release her first album of completely original material entitled, "The Sweetest Thing”.   • Ghosts in the Oaks (night one)

    This family friendly event takes place in the Carousel Gardens Amusement Park and Storyland over on two nights!  October 25th is the second night.  Children of all ages, including the young at heart adults, dress in their Halloween best for unlimited rides, air-brush face painting, live music, arts & crafts, balloon animals, a pumpkin patch, and trick-or-treating!

    Early admission begins at 6pm and gates open at 7pm for general admission. Early admission is offered at $20 per person and general admission is offered at $15 per person.  Children under 46 months are admitted free of charge.  Tickets will be sold for a single night and will be honored only for the night purchased.
